Thematic Area 1: ICT Staff

Goal:    Enhance ICT staff productivity and optimization
Objectives

1. Encourage skills upgrading and strengthening ICT staff capacity to correspond with dynamic nature of ICT.
2. Implementing annual Performance contracting mechanisms to create an enabling environment for equitable reward systems;
3. Avail periodic team building opportunities to improve bonding among the ICT staff

Thematic Area 2: ICT Infrastructure

Goal:  Develop, systematically implement and monitor scalable, effective, efficient and secure ICT infrastructures
Objectives

1. Deployment of wired and wireless infrastructure (LAN, WAN and Telephony) that facilitates access to University resources using Computers and other mobile communication devices.
2. Continuously review and upgrade the Data Centre to match the high speed computing needs of the university

Thematic Area 3: Accessibility to ICTs and Contents Delivery

Goal:   Develop and continually review sustainable, flexible, convenient and secure ICT-enabled learning support strategies for TUK.

Objectives

1. Optimizing student/staff computer ratio through acquisition of PCs, utilization of virtualized desktops and offer incentives for BYOD initiatives.
2. Provision of fast and reliable Internet facilities to enable TUK accomplish its mandate
3. Development of e-content delivery modalities that matches individual learning styles e.g. E-Learning platforms, lecture capture systems and video conferencing systems.
4. Establishment of e-repository for research findings and other internally generated knowledge and learning resources

Thematic Area 4:  Administration Support

Goal:   Provide ICT Platform that supports Academic and Management processes
Objectives

1. Participate in Formulation and Review of dynamic and flexible ICT related Policies-
2. Acquisition and/ or development of scalable and evolutionary Management Information Systems that delivers an array of existing and emerging administrative services to students/staff that align with the University’s business goals and objectives.
